Sucker Punch Sallys Complete Bike kit
By Robert Bane
In the age of $25,000 new Harleys and $75,000 customs, a sub-culture of old school bobbers and choppers has re-emerged. Out are the 330 tires and prestine paint jobs, and in are stripped down rigids with flat black paint. At the forefront of this is Sucker Punch Sallys.
The complete bike kit from Sucker Punch Sallys is an excellent way for the beginning bike builder to get started. Keep in mind their kits aren't loaded with tons of billet and high-dollar name brand parts - just the basic parts you need. Here is what's included in the basic package:
- 80" HD evolution motor
- 5 or 6 speed tranny
- Rigid Frame and hardware
- 41mm wide glide front end w/satin lower legs-your choice of risers & bars
- 5 3/4" headlight
- Wheels, tubes, tires
- Brakes and rotors
- brakes & rotors
- Softail style horseshoe oiltank
- Sprockets and chain
- Billet foward controls
- 1-3/4" drag pipes
- Gas Tank
Keep in mind, this is just the basic package. You can upgrade to S&S or Accurate Engineering motors, springer front ends, different sheet metal, and wheels. But for most people, the basic package with the crate 80" evo motor will be the way to go.
Overall, this kit is wicked cool and has all the big components you need. Some of the smaller components cheaper foreign versions, but what do you expect for the price? The parts that do matter are all good quality, so it's not a major issue in my book. So if you want to build a little bobber but didn't know where to start, now you do.
